MON then the LCR!!!
Still up there with the big boys

holy hell, i'd have thought the monaro would do a bit better than that.

just imagine what the lcr would do with a remap and arbs.

Admittedly the monaro was a wet day.
But there are some other surprises there aswell.

Mk5 Golf GTI 1.29.01
Megane Trophy 1.29.30

Mitis Evo VIII 320BHP 1.23.58

Aye not surprised by the Evo but the megane with LSD should have been faster, this is supposed to be a weapon on the corners.......
Not so much of a weapon as the mighty LCR!!

I've said this numerous times, the LCR isn't a bad handling car it seems people are far to quick to blame the car for their own lack of skill or control. Whats the saying "a bad workmen always blames there tools"

From track times on this post and other track times from evo etc the LCR has always been up there with other hot hatches. Yet your average joe slags the handling saying its not as good as such and such car yet most of the time its performs at least well on track with a competent driver behind the wheel.

interesting looking at some of the lap times from the top gear track

unfortunately the mk2 leon cupra isn't listed but IIRC when it was tested in the top gear magazine it was just off the pace of the LCR and seemed to be a tad slower than the FR

LCR quicker round the course than the ST and CTR?? hmmmm not sure about that one. I saw a fifth gear track run a while ago and the CTR did better than the LCR and the ST surely would do better??

I'm happy with the above though! :D

What do the 3, 10 & 11 codes stand for though? Im guessing mildly moist will be one? Need clarification for braggin rights to a copuple of mates, 1 wns a new golf gti and the other an ST.

I've been guilty of slagging the LCR's handling due to the body roll it has. The only times I've ever lost it I was doing silly silly speeds and to be fair the tcs reeled in my mistakes very very well.
All the proof you need it above in these tables.
I'd be interested to see the restults with a slammed LCR, bet it fair no better than a 1 ltr Polo

PMSL

Take cover from incoming insults about how well their car handles on the road
