I'm considering it, but it's also twice the price.

Edit: Surprisingly the Federals are actually half the price of the other semi-slicks - i.e. the same as the Goodyear.

Get the federals. Job done They get good news and will be more suitable than eagle f1’s on a track

If you were being really brave: https://www.rtsonline.co.uk/apps/webstore/products/show/8059115 - some part worn slicks! (note, at 265 wide i'm guessing these would scrub)

Unfortunately I don't live in Britain, so it's probably not worth it with shipping. :p

I'm guessing you all would go for the Federals over the Goodyears?

Personally I can't comment about either of those tires. My new 18's are going to be wearing Michelin PS4S's as the car is my daily so needs good wet performance (in the UK). If the track day bug gets me i'll be getting a second set of wheels with some proper track rubber on.

Suggest you take recommendations you see on here and combine it with some research on places like https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/ .

Goodyear Eagle F1’s are road tyres.

if you are buying a 2nd set of alloys for the track then you really want to be running some track focussed tyres.

Don’t you mean PS4? The PS4S only starts at 19”.

Nope PS4S is now available in 18in... The exact tires I have ordered (not with me yet): "Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S DT1 235/40 R18 Y (95)"

I don't think they have been around for long though.

From everything I've read and seen on tyrereviews.co.uk, my take away is that going with road tyres is just as good, unless you're racing for the last 10th of a second. And the obvious upside is, that getting to the track on a wet day doesn't become a life threatening exercise. :) Now the only question is which road tyre, and it seems to be between the Goodyear and Michelin UHP tyres, as I've been driving Contis for years.
