Trip computer keeps resetting

OK, nothing on the left stalk, but reset button and rocker switch on the end of the right stalk that appears to do nothing. Still working my way around this cars electrics. Can't seem to open all the doors and the boot without setting the alarm off or work out how to display outside temp etc..

What does it say in the lcd under the revs?

Alarm can be a few things can you get it scanned?

In the rev counter lcd is the digital clock. As to getting it scanned, I have only had the car two days so still finding my way around.

ok unde rthe clock is the temp generally not sure how this works on one with the fuel computer.

I have someone at work who has 1.9 tdi engines in his Octavia and Fabia and has the diagnostics. Will ask him to run them over my car to see what is "not working" and what is "missing" in terms of specs.

Ok, a little update for you. I have plugged in the ScanGuage II to my diagnostics port and it gets a power feed as the display lights up, but it sits on Connecting .... but nothing else. Any ideas ? I know the scan gauge works as I put it on my mates Skoda and it connects.

Faulty obd port? loose wire maybe? one removed so you can't scan for fault codes?

No idea at this stage, I doubt it will have been tampered with. The car came with full stamps and FSH. I don't know what the issue is. I have a three month warranty coming my way so I might get someone to check that OBD port out.

How easy it is to get round the back of the ODB port ?
