I'm not to clued up on the engine in particular, I'm sure others on here that know them like the back of their hand will be able to help more.

However, I'd say the engine is not best suited to turbocharging. The 8v just runs out of puff too quickly (well, mine does!). With only those two valves it just can't shift the air fast enough at high revs, and bolting a turbo on it is just going to make it even worse. Unless you go for a lp turbo, when you'd have a stonking mid-range, but would it be worth the hassle? Doubt it.

With the manifold being at the back of the engine you may be hard pushed to physically fit a blower in as well, considering how far back in the engine bay the block already sits? Then you've got to sort out an intercooler, lower the compression ratio, sort the fueling and get all the plumbing made up!

Far easier to drop in a unit desinged for a blower in the first place, VAG have a few to choose from ;)

What you talking about lol

Your better off putting a turbo on an 8v as they are lower compression. If you turbo a 16v you'll need low comp pistons etc..

much more expensive

I didn't say it was harder to do than a 16v....

As I said I don't know much about the 8v engine. I do know about turbocharging though, and usually dropping an engine in that was developed to run with a turbo in the first place is the better option in the long term. Supercharging usually works better if you want to blow an engine that is n/a as std.

I'd love to see a turbo fitted to the AGG engine, the inlet manifold wil surely get in the way.

You'll want a crossflow head from a more modern 2.0 8v to do it, and fabricate an inlet.

and you're rapidly into 20VT money

buy my supercharger and put that on it, fabricate a bracket and away you go..

ok maybe i simplyfied it abit, but its got to be easier than turbocharging it, i used to have an 8v Gti, and there was a massive gap between engine and rad so i know it will fit fine ;)

I doubt ul be able to strap a turbo on, without fouling the manifold..

20VT it - i'd say your as well to than turbo'ing an AGG engine.

*edit to say just realised i have repeated m0rk

Its a shame the AGG doesn't have an "in one side, out the other" head. The vauxhall 2.0 8v engines take a turbo easily.

Take this c20ne for example

They go even better with abit of this...
