Turbo exhaust stud

Hi all,

I've unfortunately snapped one of my studs on the exhaust side of my turbo.
I'm trying to extract the protruding stud with WD-40 and vice grips. Does anyone know if they are reverse thread ? I.e I'll need to twist them clockwise to remove ?

No definitely never done one with a reverse thread before they are bad for snapping I’d weld a nut on the end of it if you can and then it’ll undo using the heat as a aid too.

Oh ok, I've got it moving, but it's at such an awkward angle I didn't want to be spinning it the wrong way.

Well it came out. Soaked in WD-40 overnight, and twisted out with vice grips. Going to pick up a new stud from VW and hope it doesn't happen again.
