right havn't posted on here for ages .... my little arosa is getting ready to have tubro fitted :drive1: ... was origanlly going to tubro the 8v engine but because of bottem end and what not it baisicly wont be able to take the strain so now going down the route of the 1.4 16v engine off ither arosa sport or the lupo sport ... then going to get a k04 turbo with custom exhaust and inlet mani's but baisicly have a few question's ... does anyone know of anywhere near ish the peterborough area that can wire in and map standalone management fairly cheaply haha! can do all mechanical work my self but electrics in crap with! oh yeah and anywhere that will be able to make me all the custom pipe work i need
thanks :)

was going to go down that route but insurance ect ect ... im only 18 haha there gonna sting me as it is ... still a thought tho

probs not ... do you know if there is any 1.8t arosa's out there know there is lupo's but never seen a arosa ... would like a very very snug fit!... may have a look into it see whats needed ect .... obv engine , gearbox , loom , ecu will i need driveshafts aswell ?

Very Good. Have to get some pics up when its done.

My mate got an old volvo bus engine in his yard, you can wack that in en all! ;)

the way i am looking at it if it fits in a lupo why not in a Arosa
all down to howmuch wrk you wnt to do ots not that hard to swap a engine over

yeah the 1.8t is 1.8 turbo from ither ibiza cupra or leon fr .... still think 1.4 is going to be my best bet as i know of 3 lupo's with 1.8t in them and they find it so hard 2 get the power down using 15' alloy's and tbh like 200 odd brake is way 2 much for such a small car i will kill my self haha! i will get pics up during the process wont be happening untill i find a company 2 make me all pipes ect and 2 dannyboi's post a engine swap is hard if your going down the route of alot bigger engine as the fact that u need 2 make new engine mounts and gearbox mount's! i can fabricate but not very well! does anyone on here know of anyone that will do the pipes ect for me i really need to find out

1.8 turbo in a arosa bodyshell bliimey either massive fun or bleedin dangerous depends on your perspective really lol

it will be stupidly quick with 1 1.8t , there is a guy on clublupo who has got a 270bhp 1.8t lupo and he run's low 13's in 1/4 mile tbh thats quick!

what kind of money are you looking to spend?
A turbo conversion may well end up costing you more than an engine swap, even if you need to get someone to do the mounts etc. Also, as 3 lupo owners have done it, you'll have a lot more guidance than doing a turbo conversion from scratch by yourself (which i dont believe anyone on here has done?)

Also, you need to consider what kind of boost you would be running, and the requirement for upgrading the internals if neccessary. DIY turbo conversions can be difficult to get right. I have seen it done on other small engine cars - a micra and also a cinquecento and they have all had issues, running hot, oil pressure probelms or gearbox shagged in a matter of months.

It is possible but likely to run you into the many £thousands.
Seen a lot of people start the process, but not many finished products!

well if i can go down the 20vt for abit 5k then yeah ill go for it ,,,, 5k is for engine only! brakes and stuff are outta different kitty ,,, i know smaller engines that aint made to be turbo'd have loads of problem's with them .... think im gonna speak 2 bill at badger5 as he has got a 20vt lupo so gonna see whats needed and stuff

not being funny mate but i was just after 115bhp i would just put a 1.4 sport engine in what is a 100bhp standard then exhaust and mani thats another 15bhp ,,, well so people have been saying haha!
right looked into the 1.8 t route abit more seems like im going to go that way with it .... a company up north said they will carry out the conversion for 1,500 quid but you have to buy all parts ect your self .... think im gonna go down this route .... now its time too find a smashed up bezza!

I ran a Mk4 Golf with 250bhp for a while with 235/45x17 tyres and its ok in the dry but awful when the roads are wet. If I was going to 1.8T the Arosa I'd budget for a limited slip diff and make sure its a 6 speed box. The 5s give bother, especially if you are going to tune the nuts off it. If you want 300bhp, bolt on a K4s tubbie from a TT or S3 :D

But you won't get anywhere near 300bhp from a std K04...........
