Hi guys, looking for a bit of help. I have looked through a few pages of the forums to try and find an answer but not really found anything.

My son has taken us by surprise and is due to be born in the next 24 hours rather than 3 weeks time. I therefore don't really have the time to go to my local dealer "just in case". I have fitted his rear facing seat in the front but i don't have the switch in the glovebox to be able to turn the passenger airbag off. I spoke to a jobsworth at mt local dealer and he told me it isn't possible, but i thought it was the law to be able to turn it off so surely there must be a way?? Can i just take out a fuse?

Just for reference I have a 55 plate Leon 1.6 stylance.

Appreciate a quick responce from anyone.:help:

If there is no switch then you cannot turn it off yourself. The switch is an optional extra which is stupid but true. I don't have one on my car either. It used to be a no cost option but they now charge £30.

Quick answer - Put the car seat in the back!:)

My 4 month old grandson decided to arrive early too (Boxing Day!) and his dad's car has to go back to the dealers if he wants to turn off the passenger airbag, so the baby travels in the rear of the car.

I do have the passenger airbag disable switch, but to be honest it's easier to put the baby in the back. I'd probably forget to switch it on again!

Congratulations, by the way :)

In the back, excuse for a Recaro car seat and ISOFIX base then. We just had a little un and we would never put her in the front, esp since we got the Leon specifically as her trasnport wagon for the 5 doors.
