I think the 1.8 T lump is good for a tad more than a remap. It's the gearbox that is the weak link.
Ive had a blast with a bug eye scooby too WRX (Old guy with his missus) from 80+ and the same outcome, I was right behind him until he gave up about 125 and we slowed, that was going back few months, Revo S1 and Miltek exhaust and other usuall mods. No FMIC or Stage 2 back then. Just shows, what the FWD can do once rolling.

Weird coincidence but i had a play with a Scooby today, 53 plate, big wing, STI badge, gold wheels, not sure which version or bhp that is, but from 30-100 she wasnt catching me, but i wasnt pulling away neither.

Ive had a blat with a bug eyed one too...different exhaust and dumpvalve...goin back couple months now

Away from a set of lights i got a perfect start i dont think he expected me to slightly pull one on him...he was definately trying tho....came to a left hander to go onto a dual carriageway he got past me.....lots of understeer :D mine was just tucking in so i was gaining on him again ha ha..thank you coilovers!not much in it then but admittedly he was pulling away again on the next straight.

I didnt expect this myself and was very pleased with my little loop :p

The funny thing about it is that the guy in the impreza visits his parents on my street every week and he nods at me when im out washing the motor :D

I had a race with my friend who owns a modified litchfield impreza(it should be around 420hp), he flored it before i did(rolling start) but at the end of the 4-th gear he could see a yellow cupra catching up. the awd cars are losing once rolling. Never thought the outcome would be like that.
