I'm having trouble with my factory phone kit in my leon sport, my car connects to the bluetooth every time I jump in, but i don't hear that little "ding" sound I used to hear you know when the car connects to the phone, and when I make a call I can't hear anyone talk, so I'm guessing its the tweeters because someone told me the factory car kit works through the tweeters, any ideas what it could be? fuse gone or anything like that?

Hi mate! When in a call, people do hear you but you can't hear them? Also, when playing music, do tweeters work as they should?

Yeah people hear me but I can't hear a thing. Now the weird thing is the tweeter works when playing the radio, so the speakers should be fine

OK mate, I suppose you don't have a VAG COM, so... since removing the unit is an easy job, I'd recommend you trying with somebody else's. Maybe someone here could help you with that?

Naturally, if a different working BT unit works without issues in your car, then yours is defective. But, if even with a different one the problem persists, then it's related to the head unit and/or the connection between them.

The only way to know exactly the cause of this problem is by using a VAG COM, it should show an error code related to it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

I'' not a specialist in these things tbh, but I don't think it will be the unit that is faulty, as it connects my phone perfectly, and I can't say for sure but recently I pulled out my dash stereo to see something, and I think this fault occurred ever since, but as I say I'm not sure, do you reckon it could be anything behind the stereo? Like a loose cable or something

lol Sorry mate, all this time I believed yours was a facelift one (payed no attention to your pic), my bad. :p

Anyway, it's nice to know you managed to solve it yourself, I'm sure that'll solve your problem for good. Lesson learned? Yeah, always tighten every connection that may require it ;)

Mate it was working fine on the way to work this morning, but about an hour ago on the way back from work got a call but no sound came :( I think it's gone again. Do you think I should replace the cables? Also is that an easy task?

Certainly, replacing those cables won't be no child's play, however here's a how-to guide that may make things a bit easier:

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=139417

If it were me I'd first look for bad contacts in the cables that go to the head unit and test with the unit out of its place, play with the cables while in a call to find out exactly which is the bad one.

Wow that really does seem difficult lol I might pay someone to do it for me. To be honest none of the connectors/ cables looked faulty or anything when I had the stereo out yesterday, so I'm really confused

Before you do that, I'd take the unit out again and wiggle the connectors while in a call to see what's the cable that's faulty.
