Tweeters (Phone kit not working)

I'm having trouble with my factory phone kit in my leon sport, my car connects to the bluetooth every time I jump in, but i don't hear that little "ding" sound I used to hear you know when the car connects to the phone, and when I make a call I can't hear anyone talk, so I'm guessing its the tweeters because someone told me the factory car kit works through the tweeters, any ideas what it could be? fuse gone or anything like that?

Yeah people hear me but I can't hear a thing. Now the weird thing is the tweeter works when playing the radio, so the speakers should be fine

Is the bluetooth unit expensive/difficult to replace?

OK mate, first of all, try resetting your unit. It's quite simple and might actually help. Here's a video that shows how to do it, it's exactly the same for our Leon's (just verified it lol):

Hi mate, thanks for the advice, but I tried resetting the box as shown in the video but its still the same no sound

OK mate, I suppose you don't have a VAG COM, so... since removing the unit is an easy job, I'd recommend you trying with somebody else's. Maybe someone here could help you with that?

Naturally, if a different working BT unit works without issues in your car, then yours is defective. But, if even with a different one the problem persists, then it's related to the head unit and/or the connection between them.

The only way to know exactly the cause of this problem is by using a VAG COM, it should show an error code related to it.

I'' not a specialist in these things tbh, but I don't think it will be the unit that is faulty, as it connects my phone perfectly, and I can't say for sure but recently I pulled out my dash stereo to see something, and I think this fault occurred ever since, but as I say I'm not sure, do you reckon it could be anything behind the stereo? Like a loose cable or something

I'm not sure of the model number mate, its just the standard unit with aux and MP3 player (it says mp3 on the front)

Nope, mines the pre facelift model. I took the stereo out and wiggled the rear cable connectors and tried again and it worked ! I'm not sure of its a permanent fix but I really appreciate your help mate

Mate it was working fine on the way to work this morning, but about an hour ago on the way back from work got a call but no sound came I think it's gone again. Do you think I should replace the cables? Also is that an easy task?

Wow that really does seem difficult lol I might pay someone to do it for me. To be honest none of the connectors/ cables looked faulty or anything when I had the stereo out yesterday, so I'm really confused
