Morning,

I'm just about to wash my new ibiza for the first time and I would like the showroom look on the tyres when i'm finished i.e the shiny tyres. Does anyone know what product gets that shine I used to have a turtle wax spray but it wasnt very good ?

i use turtle wax, but the gel stuff... which you rub in! brings up a beatiful shine on the tyres! Oh and i found that the spray, it seems to drip over the alloys then leaves black lines. so yeh.

I use this:

You can get it from Halfords, last ages, just make sure you dont put too much on or it will spray down the side of your car. You can get some spounge type things that are just the right size for putting it on.

i use this as well, its pretty good as long as you dont use loads and give it time to soak in before driving.

i usually put a good coating on then wipe off the excess and let it dry. Gives a nice low gloss look that way. :D

I've used Autoglym tyre dressing on my old Octavia in the past with good results. Just use it as per the instructions, spray it generously and leave to dry (make sure you wipe the stuff off your alloys). I shall be using it on my new Ibiza Mk4 when I fit the new alloys and tyres.

It's not overly shiny, which is what I like.

I used Meguiars Hot Shine which I was pretty happy with. My RR thread has some pics.

Another vote for this product. Pretty happy with it, though i tend to get a lot of overspray. After washing, and drying the outside, i put on a generous amount and then dry inside the door jambs and by that time, its had a bit of time to soak in. Results are definitely better with a longer soak in time. I've previously tried AutoGlym dressing and its does give a slightly understated colour, which I didnt feel was dark enough. I may have to give that megs gel a try...
