How much does a company charge to fit tyres and balancing? ive rang a few companys
twit fit = £63
formula 1 = £18 a wheel
central tryes = £27 a wheel
north staffs tyre and battery = £18.75 a wheel
halfords autocentres = £58

ive never had to pay before as i used my old mans fitting and balancing machines but seen as they have now been sold, i cant.

these prices cant be right can they?

I only paid a tenner per wheel when i got mine changed the other week at just tyres

The cost of balancing and tracking has shot up over the last few years. It is ridiculous. I never pay full price though...always negotiate

Just go into a few garages and see what they will do for cash in hand mate?? I've found most people are willing to make a bit on the side.

£18 a wheel's not bad. Kwiktit obviously don't want the work. Profit is in tyres supplied, not fitting. You may get lower if you find a one man band place.

Pretty sure I only pay £10 a tyre with balancing. Maybe £15, certainly no more than that anyway!

Was going to say, I usually pay £8 per tyre. Now less, as I spend so much at the place!

cant believe some of the quotes i was getting.

it must be somthing to do with being a seat owner everyone just wants to argue with you and rip you off. Almost as much fun as ringing stoke seat and asking for a cam follower. "sorry mate never heard of one, let me ask a technician. yea thought so mate no such thing" WHAT? haha

A lot of the price is probably for disposal of the tyre as they get charge quite alot.
