Tyre gel

When I had my car mot done . The guy got his hands black with my tyre gel.he said I shouldn't use it too often as it can degrade the tyre wall ? I use mega tyre gel and wondered if this was true and if so how often to black out tyres? I think it makes the wheels look better.

Any comments please?

Twat. He obviously didn't like getting his hands dirty. Too many top ups with the old tyre gel can be exccesive but it certainly wont degrade the tyre wall, it actually helps to stop them from cracking over time.

I thought as much , it was the only fact that you are still putting chemicals on your tyres. I thought it help keep them from cracking and drying out? Still gona black mine lol.

Yes, tyre gel/foam prevents the side walls from cracking by lubricating the rubber.

I use Megs tyre gel.

I clean the tyre walls very other wash with APC so it doesn't cake on old gel etc.

Tyre dressing makes a massive difference, finishes the car and the wheels nicely!!
