hi - can’t anyone advise/ help

I have a 14 Leon fr184 with 18” wheels

I have just had my summer wheels refurbished (19” Cupra sub 8 alloys) and they have come back with the tyres not mounted and missing valves.

Having never split them - Do the wheels actually have tyre pressure sensors fitted - in which case I need to ask the refurb company where they are or does it not work like that on the Leon.

I do have some sort of tyre pressure sensor warning system on the car as it has gone off in the past

Thanks

Can’t be quoted here but I thought the tyre pressure sensors were really just a sensor within the car that can detect if one side is sagging down at one side indicating that a tyre is going down.

May well be wrong but my old Leon had it and the pressure system worked when putting aftermarket wheels on. :)

The Leon doesn’t have TPS valves, it monitors the rotation of the wheels relative to the others via the ABS sensor. So all is well with your tyres/wheels :)

If you ever have an ABS sensor fail, your dashboard will light up like a Christmas tree as the ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control and Tyre Pressure warning lights will all come on as they all work of those sensors.

Thank you for clarifying - right time to get the new tyres on

Looking tidy
