Tyre Pressure!

I have a 2007 140bhp Alhambra with standard 17" rims. Its states behind the filler cap that pressure should be around 42 but local tyre dealer said 33 was fine. Anyone any advice! 42 seems too high????

I'm sure the manufacturer didn't put the figure on the cap for a joke! What does it say in the handbook?

follow the instructions on the filler cap; mine has 17" rims and similar tyre pressures
