Just about to order some 19" alloys for my Leon fr 06 and wondering what size rubber will be best. Cars not lowered and wheels are et42 8.5x19. Was looking at 235-35-19.
Don't want any fitting or rubbing issues

Just rang to order my alloys and requested 235-35-19 but was told they will rub and would need 225 instead? Had different advice from 2 companies so am a little frustrated.

Well I don't know mate.
All I know is cupra R comes with 235/35/19 and doesn't rub anywhere the suspension setup is just the same as a standard cupra so unless the wheel offset is different?
On 18 inch wheels they run 225/40/18?

I'm running the option OEM 18" on 225-40-18 and there seem s to be loads of room. I've spoken to a few different companies some say 235 should be fine but just as I've gone to order with rim style he's told me there's a high chance of rubbing so to go for 225 which will go straight on. I don't suppose it's going to make a huge difference but want to wheels to look the part. Really like the black against the yellow with a full arch. Frustrated!

Might be worth some research to find the et of cupra r wheels and find out if the are 8.5s

What he said. Contact your local Seat parts department and ask what width and et the Cupra R wheels are (say that out loud and you sound like a pirate lol). If the same then 235/35/19 will be fine.
