Tyre size on 16'' cupra alloys

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what the largest tyre that can be fitted to the 16'' cupra alloys is please?

The ones on the alloys i'm looking at are 205/55, but I thought these would be too big.

If so what tyres would you recommend would be best for handling & comfort - 195/50s?

Cheers

55x16's would give some odd readings too... even if they were usable.

I'm in the 195x45x16 club too. My brother found that certain Continentals in that size gave arch rub on tight-full lock, but doesn't remember which. These are teh only tyres in this size to have done it though...

Enjoy!

:p

Assuming you found something with a totally non-rigid sidewall that might stretch, but you might as well paint underseal on your rim instead :D

Actually, that makes me think... I don't think rim width has come up in this thread yet... I suppose it IS a set of 6j x 16's we're talking about, isn't it?

yep a 6J wheel

i am running 195/45/16 on 7J and 8J wheels at the moment, looks good, no stupid stretch, but stops rubbing :)
