Hey,
Need to replace my tyres soon and I want to give it the stretched tyre look but I've never done it before. Usually I get 225/40/18, so what should I be looking for to get a safe stretch?

Many thanks
Dan

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a safe stretch; I would advise a quick search and a little bit of reading to ensure you are aware of the disadvantages/problems. Be prepared to get flamed lol.

Personally, I would steer away from this idea, buy some tyres that fit correctly and be safe in the knowledge that your only contact with the road won't fail you.

Loads of garages will fit them, just tell them no comeback IF any problems.

There is nothing wrong with having a slightly stretched look but going for anything else is frankly asking for trouble. IIRC the law is due to be changed regarding this so personally, i'd leave well alone.

BTW this in my eyes is done by the same kind of people that misspace registration numbers or use silly fonts :)

I'd never do that. I just wanted abit of tyre stretch, nothing drastic as I've seen it before and when lowered it seems to fit the arches nicely. But if it's going to cause problems with the law etc then I guess I'll just stick to buying spacers.
