3 of my vavle caps seem to have corroded a bit inside and wont unscrew. Scared to use too much force incase I rip off the valve with too much twisting... any ideas?

I have drilled out the top of the cap and sprayed WD40 in there, but no luck...

This happened to mine a few weeks ago. Get two pairs of pliers/grips and whilst holding the valve shaft with one pair twist the cap with the other.

Now throw them in the bin and get some plastic caps ;)

My local tyre place charges £4 for a new valve, and it's done while you wait, this might be your best bet mate IMHO.

Note to all, metal dust-caps need 'lube' of sorts to hinder this corrosion/metallic bonding.

Can they replace the valve with the wheel still on the car / tyre still on the wheel??

Had a go with the pliers and it's still a no go...they turn a little bit but then stop again as I guess the corrosion is getting caught in the threads.

I had this happen on my last Cupra. Get a dremel and grind down the side of the valve cap until you can see the threads of the valve. That will allow you to get the cap off with judicious use of a screwdriver.

yea they cut the top of the valve deflat the tyre pop it off the rim and put a new valve in bobs you tea pot

You do realise that would make a REALLY big bang if they did tht in that order...... lol. :)

They deflate the tyre first but yeah, it's a 5 minute job per wheel...... easiest solution in my opinion, i imagine your valve stems look a bit worse for wear now too? Any tyre place should do it for you, ring round for prices. What's your location by the way mate?
