Driving back at midnight last night, rain bucketing it down... just wanted to get home. Tyre pressure warning light came on. I did the "man" thing of walking round kicking all the tyres but seemed fine to me. But still... went to find a garage and got soaked through using the air machine. Turns out my front left tyre had lost 6psi. The alloys are new, so its lost that in 2 weeks.

Anyways, into the garage this morning it went. They found a manufacturing fault on the alloy and replaced foc. So I'm really pleased the light came on as I guess it could have been a lot worse had I been cornering hard or on the motorway.

Despite my tyres being 4mm on the outside, apparently they are 1.6mm on the inside. So in an hour I'm going to decide between the Sport Pilot 3 and Eagle F1. I'll likely go with the Eagle if they are cheaper.

I've done a search on tyre pressures... the sticker says 32 front, 29 rear. But the garage have blown them up 3 times in the last 2 months to 32 / 32. And will have done again today. I'm sick of letting the air back out. Does it really make that much of a difference?

if your running on lower profile than standard fitment your pressures will prob need to be slightly higher i run 225/35/19 at 34 psi all round with no problems . the pressure sensor doesn't detect pressure just a difference in the rolling rate of the wheels so as pond as all are equal no sensor light

32 all round is fine, 3 psi isn't a huge amount!

:D Cheers, I'll leave it as it is then.

Now have Michelin SP3 on the front and Bridgestone Potenza on the rear (not my choice... but stuck for another month or so).

The light on mine 09 fr 170, comes on occasionally.. I just reset it having checked the pressures

Just one of the car's quirks a think

I wouldn't be worried about getting them at the exact recommendations, won't make much difference.

I usually put in 1 or 2 psi over when pumping up as some escapes when you pull it off ;)

As for tyres, I'm just about to replace my Eagle F1's and they have been great, I'll probably either get them or Kumho KU39s (which I had on my previous car and I really liked).
