I'm with NTL though. The only recent problem I had with them was that they upgraded their network (ready for HDTV) and it broke my cable modem. It took them about 3 weeks to actually admit this and give me a new modem.

Sounds like the same problem half the people in my street had. Have you seen the new thing where they're limiting their "unlimited" service now?

That will be the P2P port throttling. I haven't been affected by this (but I'm not in the Preston area). I sometimes get the full 10Mb speed for certain torrent sites

Does the SCN server update itself with lists of blackholed IP ranges etc Martyn?

I only wondered as that's caused me problems in the past ... real pain when the IP you use falls within a banned range and your mail provider is listed as a known SPAM source. Not had a problem with the new ISP yet and never had a problem getting on here
