Fitted a pipewerx 3" downpipe and decat to my lcr yesterday, very happy with the results.:)
It was bought with the intention of adding an easily removable sports cat.

I've got a few ideas of how to do it with varying levels of difficulty, cutting out a removable section and using 2 sleeved or flanged joints so I can swap between the sports cat or straight through pipe.
I know pipewerx sell a sports cat dp but it's allot more expensive and I want the cat to be easily removable.
Has anyone else done anything similar or had any experience of universal sports cats???

I'm looking at Magnaflow, Turborevs and Toyosports ones at the mo but can't find much info regarding quality of them etc.

I'm looking at doing this too..

Straight 3" pipe about 30cm long with v bands at either end and then my 3" system cut and 2 v bands attaching at either end.

Then when it comes to swapping over its just undo and tighten a couple of v bands

Great idea using v bands, I was worried I may end up welding a flange on a bit pissed and none of it lining up but not a problem with v bands.
Have you had the Magnaflow fitted long? I have seen reports of cheaper cats falling apart inside after a couple of months but Magnaflow seem to have a good reputation in the USA.

Look at the name convention in the picture: 20130427 (27-04-2013), so been driving that for a bit more than a year. I chose for them because of that reputation. And they are fairly cheap (about 90-120 euro)!

V bands £20, pipe £5, half hour labour £65??? Seems a bit much.
Perhaps he thought you wanted it fitting too??

I no! Nutter! I do need the v clamp flanges attaching to my current system. Will be cheaper to buy a decat at this rate!

Well then I guess there's another half hour or so work so £65 labours not too bad.
