Hi,

New to the arena and my first question! :)

I have a 2010 seat leon with 125hp 1.4Tsi (CAXC) engine. The car has been driven 67 000km, and it makes a rough sound when you start it on the morning. Full timing chain kit has already been chainged and the valvelifters have been replaced also. No effetc on the sound.

Does anyone have the same problem or any ideas what could cause this sound!?

Sound sample on you tube:

Thanks!

Mine also makes this noise, and I'm sure a lot of others. From what I understand the chain tensioner works on the oil pressure, and this noise is the chain being slightly loose for 1-2 seconds before the pressure has built up. So I've been told anyway I have researched it further to confirm 100%

Ok,

Local seat carage told me that the sound caused by chain/chaintensioner has a higher tempo. This sounds a lot like faulty valvelifters, but it isnt...
