Upgrades: Chip or remap

If you change the turbo you'll be wanting a map to suit. If you're leaving the R standard then you won't see massive gains, but if you're going to mod it then you'll be wanting a remap to get the most out of it

Right got it..so let me get this right. my ideal order of modding would be- filter(done),DV(done),FMIC(doing soon, honest), smoothed air box (done-waste of time and skin from my knuckles) so now it will be- exhaust (cat back or turbo back?) and then Ko3s and then a remap? or with the mods would a remap alone see sufficient gains?
Sorry to be a pain guys and gals.:help:

my advice is 03s or leave it as it is! altho the revo felt faster it wasnt! all your gain is torque but as i said b4 is good for normal driving but when your goin for it and reving it high your using bhp power! 5/10 isnt a noticeable amount at all!
depends what u want the map for? abit of a nicer drive or outrite speed i know ill be putting the money towards having both bhp and torque!

Ive got a chip in my car and not impressed - it was on the car when i bought it and was first done back in 2001 - it boosts to about 15 PSI then dies off and holds about 9/10 way to quickly - not really aggressive -

Got me a FMIC and new TIP then off to p-torque -

Right, so far guys, you have me going in a different direction! Next buy will be a TIP, and exhaust. mine is std a present (except for Sebring backbox). Could i buy a 2.5" downpipe to fit straight to std exhaust or is it a full system overhaul thats required? i see Jetex and Scorpion do them at very reasonable prices. i want a straight fit though, no welding or bending for me thank you.

You won't find a (good) downpipe that fits to your standard exhaust.

You standard exhaust is 2" and you need at least a 2.5" downpipe, otherwise you are really just wasting money. You want a different downpipe to stop the restrictions for the turbo, hence the bigger bore sizes.
What you can do is buy a reducing clamp, which fits over the bigger downpipe and connects to your original exhaust. This is what I have now too, as I don't have the money to order everything at once.

And I am also going for the Jetex system.

As for the sequence of mods, I think its a wise choice to do the exhaust, then downpipe. THe TIP is always a nice modd, as it makes your turbo sound awesome!

Then you can chose to fit a K03s, which will keep the boost better throughout higher revs.

And get off that azzzz and fit that FMIC! :D;)

Oh and last bit of info: Jetex system is 2.5" bore size so if you buy a downpipe with that same size it will fit without adjustments needed, only a clamp.

good luck

sounds low, unless it was at the wheels bhp, should be looking at around 190 for a stage 1

Yeah it does look really low.

If you were to buy that then I would really watn to know what map the car has. And if the owner doesn't know then I would be even more weary (or how do you spell that?)

Because if you get a map done, then people deffinately know which map...I would think.

Might be lying...156hp to 173 is barely anything noticable...
