Im booked in on sunday to have my car remapped (revo) and then have a rolling road session after, I was wondering what the pros and cons would be if i asked them to turn my boost up, i want to get the best out of my remap so would this be advisable? if so what boost and timing settings should it be adjusted to?

Cheers david.

lots of heat would be generated with high boost i personally wouldnt change the boost untill you have a fmic if you run v power or similar timing 7 could be used if not the boost 6 timing 6 is good to start with

What fuel do you run?

No fmic?

I'd run 5 and 5.

And it wont get that much straight after revo as it hasnt adapted to the new map.

I'd save your money on a RR and get it done a few weeks after.

I currently run abit of both fuel to be honest 95/97 as i dont pay for fuel... so i get the good stuff when i can.

yeh good advice about getting it RR i didnt think of that, and nope dont have a FMIC YET!

Would the ecu not adapt if i disconnected the battery for 30mins so it resets itself? then i would have whatever power i might have in a weeks time?

Hey, sorry to hijack the thread! i have done a search on this but found no real answer, Can you run an FMIC on just revo stage 1?? I was under the impression you had to get stage 2 for a FMIC??
Thanks

yeh, fmic is no problem with just stage ones, look at a lot of people sigs you'll see that they're just running stage one getting results from 200bhp to about 230bhp i think. Only when you add a bigger turbo is when you have to have stage 2 (along with dp, 4bfpr etc) as it will run lean i think? But just to assure you stage 1 and fmic is fine!

It will adapt faster than if you don't reset it. Are you getting it RRed at the same place as Revo? If not try to put as many miles on with some spirited driving before the rr to get as much adaption as possible.

lol i run boost 5 with every mod to compliment stage 1 available...dp & race cat, fmic, cold air intake, 007p dv..and mine feels an animal.

theres no need for you to run higher than 5 say really, its still gonna be mental!

I ran a FMIC on my pd130 fr ibiza with it just standard, with a full milltek turbo back exhaust, dynatwist and that was about it, no problems at all. It gave it a tad more lag but pulled better up the rev range for sure. Then i had a Hybrid turbo fitted and it went into a completely different league ;)

Are timing 5 and Boost 5 standard settings or will it have to be adjusted?

I hope it will be mentel :D at the moment im running a 4" cold air intake miltek cat bak Forge 007p and a green panel filter + smoothed box so hopfully results will be pretty good.

Cheers David.

any good dealer should really ask you what settings you want, ofcourse they usually assume you know nothing and other than maybe asking you what fuel you use they will just set it to what they feel is ok e.g HB4, 5 or 6 and timing 5 or 6. timing 5 is fine for 98ron and runs fine with the occasional 95 as well. 6 may show signs of pulling back when running on 95ron

btw when i said i have a cold air intake...i mean cold air intake (filter is in the bumper) yours is a cold air feed :p calling it a 4" intake nearly made me throw my food back up! thats huge!

Now theres a idea lol....

Sorry im still fairly new to the turbo scene and am still a little confused about the boost settings, so what should i ask the dealer to adjust the settings to, with the mods that i have mentioned i use mainly 95 ron fuel but a couple of times a week it would proberly be 97/98 ron?

Cheers :D

as if mate..sorry but your just wrong
u could be running HB9 T9 and your pretty little k03 turbo wouldnt produce **** all after 6k
especially seeing u have no sufficient cooling

it drops to about 19psi by 4500rpm and produces no more than 14psi by 5000rpm and id be willing to put money on it

about as realistic as believing your car actually produces 210bhp

sorry bud, but stupid comments...harsh remarks
