uprated turbo

im after a bigger turbo but im not sure what's best for money - basically I want a reliable turbo thats not too expensive and one that wont put too much strain on my engine - i currently have the ko3s turbo - stage 2 remap and a few other things.

any ideas on which turbo? where to get it and roughly how many green queens its going to cost me to replace the turbo and anything else which will need uprating to support the higher bhp?

thank guys!

What is your budget?

What power do you want?

Are you handy with a spanner or will you be paying soneone else to do the work?

If you use the search button you will find all the answers your after.

maybe £800? i'm after about 300bhp, give or take 20bhp either way. i'm alright with engines, not the best but i have friends that are mechanics and if i tossed it up they'd point me into the right direction..

Engine internals gan take ~330-350bhp

You aint gona get much for £800 mate.
What mods do you already have?

For your budget I think you will be better off getting your k03s made hybrid with with the right mods will give you cerca 280-290bhp.

so how much would i need? i have the stage 2 remap, forge d/v, full jetex exhaust system, forge inlet hose, big brake conversion, uprated water pump, vipercross induction.. cant think of anything else. can you think of any other ways of increasing power without replacing the turbo? would a decat help? i currently have a sports cat.

The best for you would be the jbs04, this is a hybrid KO3s turbo that will fit to your exhaust manifold etc but you would need a FMIC for this.
An decent FMIC will set you back £500. so not enough left for the tubro and a custom remap to get the mapping sorted out again.
Might be better trying to get a KO4 turbo with BAM exhaust manifold and DP. You would still need a FMIC for this but TBH £800 ain't going to get you far without you doing all the work yourself.

ok i think what ill do is get the intercooler then save up some more pennies and go for the hybrid then. also is it still worth uprating stuff as my engines done slightly under 100k miles - this isnt going to knacker it up is it?
