Hi all, just a quick question. Do you need a special cable to connect an iPhone to the MP3 player port in the car or does it just use the standard Apple USB cable? Also, will the phone handsfree function through this or do you need the Bluetooth communications pack? I have the phone controls on the steering wheel but don't have the optional Bluetooth pack, and was wanting to know if my iPhone handsfree would operate through USB.

Thanks

The standard ipod cable will work, as that's how I use mine> I dont have the bluetooth so I have to change songs using the ipod itself which is a pain at time esp of the position. More often than not it just sits on the passenager seat.

Seat Sound System 2.1 / iPhone connection?

Does anybody know how to connect an iPhone to the new Seat Sound System 2.1 without using bluetooth?

Don't the steering wheel controls operate the iPod when it's connected by USB?

It won't connect directly via USB you need some sort of adapter. This is how you do it on a vw with the same unit youtube --> /user/AskaVWsalesguy#p/u/86/fpdueleXNg8. The problem is that my Seat doesn't have the same port.

That's interesting, when I asked the salesman he said the phone just connects by the normal apple USB cable.

I have a facelift Leon with rns310 and cup, buy the seat cup holder which has the two wires out the back and use your iPhone with this, it let's you use all your songs on the iPhone via the steering wheel controls and charges your iPhone at the same time, costs about £80 but well worth it.

Thanks, after reading a lot on here, I have ordered the Bluetooth communications package.
