v5 induction

anyone know if an induction kit will help a 2001 v5 (170) or will it be extra noise for nothing

I've generally heard it's not a good idea, although one or two peeps have a different view. Best left for turbo's methinks. Gain likely to be negligible but potential to screw up things likely.
