Hi,

I've been using a 3rd party vag com cable & I think it's been disabled as I can no longer install the drivers.

If I reinstall my netbook will I be able to use the cable again?

Or do I need a new cable?

Quite possible, it sounds like windows is being a turd, I don't know why but it just seems to get messed up after a while. You could try uninstalling the port in device manager if possible then reconnecting the cable and try again.:)

I've reinstalled my netbook & then tried to install VCDS 805 & again, it doesn't install the drivers properly!

When I connect the cable, it says new hardware found & need to install the drivers! I locate the drivers from C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS........ and it just installs a USB Serial Converter????

I'm with Seatmann, those FTDI drivers work every time. I've got them downloaded and stored somewhere close to hand, as he says every so often it seems to just get confused and the easiest solution is simply to reinstall them.
