I got this one, 100% rip off software but it works fine providing you switch off the internet on your lap top whilst using it. If you get this fork out the extra couple of quid for faster postage, I'm a cheapskate and ended up waiting 6 weeks for it to come!

For good lead supplied by a UK VCDS dealer, I went to Gendan and bought their KKL lead.
VCDS Lite is a free download from the originator, Ross-Tech. The capabilities of the various versions are compared here. Registration of VCDS-Lite is $99.
Quite apart from the fact that the software supplied with these cheap eBay cables is in breach of Ross-Tech's rights, it has been hacked to make it work with a non-genuine cable. Now you may be happy to modify your car's ECU and control modules with dodgy software, but I'm not.

Yeah it works fine for me, as I said before just make sure you switch off the internet before you run ghe software or connect the cable. Otherwise I think it tries to update and realises its pirated. Its not the most up to date software think its the 2008 version or something but is perfect for our cars.
I picked up one of these from best buy and was able to make changes to the locking/unlocking procedure from my remote but now can't seem to get it to work anymore.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times but doesn't seem to register on VCDS plus in device manager it doesn't show as having picked up the drivers.
Sure I didn't have it connected to the net as I removed my USB wifi adapter before using (used the same usb port) but does this sound like what happens if it is connected to the net?
