I have been searching and reading about this VAG COM.

*Other than error reports, what els can it show?
*What type of graphs are produced?
*Any good, nice, intresting features you can do or add to a mk2 leon?
*What equipment is needed exactly?
*would it be easy to use for me (im a uni computer student), or is there lots of car mechanic technababble?

*are there any better or cheaper alternatives by other companies than VAG COM?

I use to to:
-check, scan and clear error codes.
-Do logging to monitor sensors like boost, a/f, timing etc when changing my revo settings. Which is important for me.
-You can change things like steering weight, and central locking settings etc.

You can export csv (excel type files) and also view graphs.

I have the ross-tech CAN-BUS only cable which has the software license built in. you need the registered software to make any changes/settings.
Get the real deal, its worth it. There is no alterative really that is so comprehensive. And its very easy to use, made for the layman.

Sorry, not hi-jacking the thread.....

I spoke to dealers about changing the steering weight as I want mine adjusting to be slightly "firmer". They said its not possible to do this anymore. - Have you got any more info on where this setting is if it is still possible.

Dan, if I brought the car to you - reckon you could change a few settings for me?

I'd like to make my steering a little heavier, and I'd also like to make my windows/mirrors auto open/close.

Obviously would bung you some cash

Surely you mean any computer running Windows? There's nothing to stop you lugging a desktop out into the car if you were so inclined.

I actually run vagcom on my Macbook, but that's a different thing altogether.

What is the connection to the car? There are some leads on Ebay that say they fit the Leon MK2 its usb and 16pin. It's only around £15 with postage and I already have a full version of vag-com. Does it mean I could only read info and not change any settings on the car?

WOhay.

So where abouts in the car is the place the cable gets plugged in to?

Is it easy for a novice to use? EG.. if i want to change the steering weight will it say "steering weight" and then a number to change so its nice and simple?


Yesterday the seat garage changed my blue tooth's mic sensitivity with there computer thingy. be cool to be able to do things like this
