VAGTech BT kits?

emailed AMD (woking branch) to enquire about BT kits and they said to speak to VAGTech as they have a good reputation

I have emailed them asking for quotes, but has anyone used them on here at all? good job, bad job, quality, service etc?

current contenders are Badger5 (pending quotes) and BDMS, and seeing if VAGTech are worth a look as a possible vendor to carry out my conversion

Jon at VagTech did a cracking job rebuilding the engine on my car and he is a nice bloke so call him up , I did in the end decide to go to Jabbasport (Vagtech recomended) for my BT as they had the complete package :D They supplied , fitted and mapped my car 1.7 bar 420.4 BHP 400 FT/Ibs fitted for 4 weeks and no problems at all :D

make sure you use a company that can supply and fit all the hardware and most importantly be able to map it properly!

I used to go to vagtech all the time as lived nearby, but mainly as i know greig and charlie there who have been top notch, jon is decent too but now greig and charlie are at total-vag i travel up there instead.

vagtech used to be the uk only supplier for hpa turbo kits but i believe its more open now, theyve made a few really nice conversions, 450bhp TT, 400bhp mk4 r32, 565bhp beetle....

As said for a 3.2 Vagtech are the boys !, jon always said Jabba for 1.8t
As said by caney make sure you get one company to do everything so if there is a problem there no one else in the chain

jabba did a grand job on mine. workmanship excellent and friendly with it.

would also include Bill on the list.

figures mean nothing without drivability so the map is vital.. id be wanting a way of controlling the boost/torque so it can be turned down for when bad weather appears.
id get some plots from various tuners to compare maps
you need someone whos melted enough BT set ups to know the limitations
is just as interested as you in getting the most from the conversion
someone who`ll support you if problems arise and can do the job all the way through

well after seeing the "real" and total costs from Bill, budgeting for 7k is no way enough, so more saving, or quitting this idea all together

Bad times mate.

What about the engine Hooch was selling? That had rods, pistons, valves and springs etc I believe. Is that not an option?

Ok mate.

Do you actualy NEED valves and spring for the power you are going to be running?

Or is it more for piece of mind?

no definitely need it, car has 88k on it, and due to the increased power band and high revs it will be revving at, these need to be replaced....because if they let go, bye bye engine
