Today I tried fixing my airbag issue by fitting a resistor, but it didn’t work in the end – it came loose while driving. I’ll sort it properly another time.
While using VCDS to scan the car and clear the airbag fault, I came across two other codes. One of them came back:
16395 - Bank 1: Camshaft A (Intake)
P0011 - Retard Setpoint not Reached (Over-Advanced) - Intermittent
I’m not sure when this came up – there’s no engine light and the car drives fine. The only thing I’ve noticed is a slight flat spot or hesitation when flooring it from 1st to 2nd gear. Not sure if that’s related. For context, I had the timing belt kit replaced around the end of March and everything’s been running smoothly since. After clearing the codes, this one didn’t return. I don’t think the battery was unplugged during the timing belt job – could that have caused the code?
The second code was for the HVAC:
00792 - A/C Pressure Switch (F129)
31-00 - Open or Short to Ground
The A/C works great, nice and cold, but I’ve noticed the fans are always running at full speed when it’s on. Is that normal, or could it be linked to the sensor? Is it just a dodgy switch that needs replacing?
Also – does anyone know the part number for the airbag connector under the driver’s seat?
