Vision Coding?

Hopefully this is the right place for this, apologies if not.

Just picked up my new (to me) 2017 Leon FR, and it doesn't have full link (for Android Auto) enabled. I'd quite like it enabled.

It's gonna be £300 from the dealer, which feels a bit spenny.

I've done a bit of digging, and it looks to be DIYable with obdeleven, but tbh I don't have the time or inclination to do it myself. Ten years ago maybe, but two kids tend to leech a lot of time.

And then there's a place called Vision Coding who seem to say they'll send out the files to pop on an SD card and it can be done from that, for fifty quid. There's a note saying that 15/16 vehicles might need additional coding to work.

Has anyone used these guys? I've checked the version numbers and it looks like it should work fine according to their site...

Why not do it yourself? Use mib Tool Box as an example.

The Other think, use the Forum Search

Just be aware that if something goes wrong with the remote activation, you’re likely to be blocked and left to deal with it yourself “because you did something wrong” (seems to be the theme with a lot of the SD card in the post services)

2017 will likely already have the correct USB port installed (assuming it isn’t a very late prefacelift). If you have a double USB port it’s ok.

If it’s a single USB with aux it’ll have to be replaced as they don’t install CarPlay compatible USBs on Leon’s without Full Link

2017 will not require additional coding to work.

We offer a Full Link activation here at our workshop, we update the infotainment system prior to the activation for no additional charge.

Yeah I thought that might be the case. It's a bargain until it's not...

You're based in Brid right @East Yorkshire Retrofits? How much do you charge for the activation? I'm not too worried about Carplay cos we're all Android (I think we're pre-facelift, but in I can check).

Cheers!
