Vredesteins any good?

Thanks for the help. I I've decided to go for the goodyears as I had seen a lot of good reviews and they seem to be more available than vreds. Next question, I bought from mytyres and I am having them delivered to my local garage how long does it take to deliver and do I just pay the garage for fitting
 
The Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta's I had on my Mk2 Leon Cupra were ****. I would advise you not to waste your money on them.

Best tyres I have tried to date on the Mk2 Leon Cupra are Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy2. Shame Michelin don't do their new top line tyre in 225 40 18 or smaller or I would try them next as they are supposed to e excellent too although stupidly expensive.

All the info is on the MyTyres site mate. Camskill do some good pricing too - but I'm not searching their site as well for you :p

With MyTyres you can tick the fully fitted option to factor in fitting/balancing etc...sometimes cash is king though ;)
 
I've got the new vreds ultrac vorti on the front greatly reduced wheelspin and i think there great for under £100, £25 quid cheaper than assy 2s per tyre and the tyre wall look the dogs

They wear fast, smoke under pressure, make noise, got crap traction in both dry and wet and don't especially do well in bends or slowing down either vs better tyres such as the assy 2. They could cost half what the Goodyears do and I would still avoid them.

Pretty sure BigNod will agree - I purposely killed mine in the end to get different tyres on sharpish.

Amen to that brother!;)

Was so disappointed with mine that I purposefully tried to kill them off sooner rather than later. The main reason I bought these was due to their supposed 'Amazing Wet Performance' which living in North Scotland at the time I looked forward to. This I never found and even once the weather dried the grip didn't get much better. Wouldn't even run these on my car if they were free tbh, utter pish!:(
 
Maybe there is a difference between 18"and 19" Vredesteins.
Could also be the height of the car and the settings that cause a difference.
Got a lot of miles (= more than most other brands all is relative) out of the Vredesteins and used them for several laps on the ring where I couldn't fault them at all (both in dry and damp conditions, in wet imho. all 19" tyres on a small cars are rubbish).
Anyway, also had the goodyear and they where fine in the beginning but hated them after some miles since on my car they became noisey and didn't age that well (then again I do a lot of Autobahn miles at really high speed and maybe this will cause the difference)

I change Bridgestone ponza to verdstein ultrac sessanta on the wife's car (Audi s3) they are loads better grip and cheaper as for wear I don't think many 18s last that long the softer they are they better the grip but the quicker they wear

I find the Ultrac Sessantas fine on normal road use (I got them for an alleged decent performance in wet or dry), but they were crap for the 1/4mile sprint - no grip at all compared with the RE050s I used last time.
 
I have verdstein ultrac sessantas actually on my Cupra Ibiza tbi write now and I don't think there a bad tyre at all quite goo grip wet and dry good wear life and a quite good price so overall they get my vote

I'll admit there is some really good tyres out there like I will be buying perrilli pzeroneros next there grip is amazing But quite costly and wear out fast
 
I think it's just a matter of opinion with most people on what tyres to go for. What might work for some doesn't work for others. There'll never be a perfect tyre for everyone so you've just got to bite the bullet I suppose. :)

Exactly. I dithered for ages about what to get because there's mixed reviews for everything. Eventually bit the bullet and went the for Vredesteins on the verdicts of a few people I knew with them on the same car.

I took off 4 Uniroyal Rainsport 2's that were great in the wet, but bit squirmy in the dry. They wore out on the edges faster too.

Only done 100 miles on the PS3's but they feel good so far. I couldn't get the Assy 2's at the time.

I have Kumho ku37 on mine and I'm more than happy in my opinion KU37 are much better than assy 1 which I use to run brand new assy last just for 7k where kumho are now on 9k and still got plenty thread left

I've got the KU39's on the rear at the moment and although the grip is quite good I just can't stand how much softer the sidewalls are compared to the Assy's. Seem ok on the road but had their pants pulled down by the Assy's on track and the tread blocks actually started tearing away from the tyre body by the end of the day.:banghead:
