Evening All!

Loitered around these forums for a while now as a VW Owner:

As you can see my Bora has had a few different looks, but the time has come for me now to move on!

So, like I say, time for a change, the Bora is now for sale and here is the replacement!

Picked this up on the 2nd of February. Spec when I got the car included full custom stainless exhaust, lowered on Weitec shocks and 50/40 springs, forge DV, Neuspeed heat shield and a pipercross filter, car also has a remap of some description though I'm not sure it's particularly good, more on that later.

Wasn't long before I started changing bits and bobs, I previously had a Jetex cone filter, the early one and the neck split so I got in touch with Jetex Racing and they kindly replaced it FOC, great service!

Heat shield isn't the best, going to get one from Badger 5 though so that'll be spot on.

As I said earlier I got the car with a Forge 007p DV, and I don't know that it had ever been serviced so I ordered the new upgraded piston and service kit from Forge through Stan at Ecotune Scotland, got that fitted now aswell. No noticeable difference, just peace of mind I suppose.

Also changed the interior bulbs to LED's and replaced the scabby old floor mats:

Must do something about the wear on the steering wheel and gear knob!

Also popped some Bosch retro-fit aero wipers on, they work well but they sit quite high and don't quite match the curvature of the windscreen over to the passenger side, so not entirely happy with them, however they're miles better than what was there previously.

Fascia adapter arrived so I got my Alpine head unit fitted:

Ran the cable for the iPod up and over behind the instrument cluster and down to this wee cubby hole, fairly neat and quite handy.

Need to look into doing away with the CD Changer and reclaiming my glove box though.... Got to have somewhere to keep yer gloves, after all!

So. After 2 days I was fed up with the retrofit wipers and proceed to steal the OE Aero arms and blades from my Bora:

They're much better, can barely see them as they sit so flat, and clear the screen perfectly. A fairly easy upgrade and well worth doing. Parts probably cost just over £100 if you don't have a donor vehicle, and the passenger side needs some modification, you can either shorten the blade, cut the window trim, or do what I did and move the wiper bracket further along the arm, you don't actually need to cut it just unclamp the grip and slide it up the arm by about 30mm.

Fairly flying through the posts here, just trying to get the thread up to date. I'm now onto today though!

Over the weekend I stripped the Bora of it's modifications, so off came the Brembo's for sale and the KW V1's came off to go on the LCR.

Bora now looks like a monster truck:

On the lookout for some standard 16" wheels to sell it on.

Anyway, after work tonight I helped my brother sort the tracking on his wee connect van and then got on with the Leon. I simply love KW's Inox coating. The shocks are just like brand new and adjust very easily, definitely worth the extra £££

No pictures of the fitting, it was cold, dark and I was working outside because I can't get in the garage at the moment due to an EP3 civic lying there stripped waiting on some odds and ends for a Turbo conversion.

Fitted the Coilovers and my SuperPro dogbone bushes, (suspension arm bushes to be done at a later date) then gave it a really quick wash (first time since I picked it up ) it's probably not any lower than it was previously but that's what I was wanting anyway, maybe it'll need some fine tuning once I see it in the daylight.

I've got a stud conversion, and spacers sitting waiting to go on, need to wait on someone getting their finger out and letting me have my wheel nuts though

In other news.... I really need to get the machine polisher on the go:

I also need to refurbish the brakes, they've got the usual terrible lacquer peel but otherwise look okay, not a great deal of corrosion. Once the better weather comes I'll get them off and freshened up.

I've not decided yet to be honest. I've still got the Speedlines on the Bora and I've sold the comps to Vroomtshh on here for his LCR.

I'm planning on keeping the standard wheels for a while anyway and sorting out power first!

Quite happy with the ride height. Once the arms are polybushed I'm going to get it booked in for 4 wheel geometry alignment.

Replaced the rear wiper for one from a fabia estate, looks and functions better:

Also fitted the poly bushes in my arms, hopefully get them fitted to the car this weekend:

Also this arrived on Monday, again hopefully get it fitted this weekend, Badger5 v2.2 TIP & Heatshield. Lovely piece of engineering!
