so true, you will certainly increase the chance of being stopped & remember pass and driver windows have to be lighter otherwise the plod could issue a MOT retest relating to the visability

I'm not going to tint the passenger and drivers window at all, leave them totally standard, as for the rears I'm going to do the darkest one that is legal

I have all windows done, no problems with police so far. Rear 1/4's a pain tho. Had it done twice and it was never perfect...Vinyl might be my last option

I think it would look odd if you have tints all around but the quarter isn't tinted

Tinted windows all round if you ask me, I had lite smoke on front passenger and drivers side and medium on back and rear windows. Looks odd with just the back done. Wife's Leon has just the back done, I have tried to persuade her to get the fronts done but she won't where it :(

I've have done my rear 1/4's myself using a polycarbonate tint spray.

Looks almost perfect apart from a small run in one corner, but is only visible from inside.

The stuff I used is called TAMIYA PS-31.

Basically its a clear tinted laquer spray paint for plastics.

Does the job and better than blacking out completely with vinyl IMO.

Greg.

So I finally got the rears tinted, and I'm very happy with the finish, they used matte black vinyl on the outside of the rear quarter window which looked ok imo, a lot like other people's tints on here, but then suddenly the vinyl started peeling off on one of the sides, now I don't want to bother with taking it back to where I got it done (as its 70 miles away from me) so is there anything I can do to prevent that? I was thinking I should put new vinyl on the inside instead and removing the outside one, would that be an easy task?
