Water Collecting In Door Sills

I've got a 2020 FR Black Edition and I've noticed that water is collecting in the rear door sills.

So when it rains or when I wash the car and I then open the rear doors, a puddle of water which has collected in the sill gushes out and onto the floor... is this one of the quirks of the car, or is something wrong? Seems odd that it's happening on both sides, and it doesn't seem right?

Cheers

Car Length In Front
I get this on occasion, but all depends on the angle I've parked at. I'f I'm parked on the flat part of my drive it doesn't happen. But if I'm parked on the relatively steep slope nose in, then it happens on the rear passenger side door.

Never had any water ingress on the car, and its happened with both my original 280 ST, and my new 300 ST.

That used to annoy me with my older daughter's late 2009 Ibiza SC, after rain or washing, when you opened either (front and only) doors, water poured out of the bottom of the door.

That has never ever happened to my wife's old 2002 VW Polo, my old 2000 VW Passat 4Motion, wife's new 2015 VW Polo or my 2011 S4.
I have never been out after my older daughter has washed her car in my driveway, or opened a door after heavy rain anytime that she has stayed overnight, so I can't comment wrt her 2019 Leon Cupra - but from what I saw with the late 2009 Ibiza and in reading that Ibiza section in this forum, it happened to a lot of people, which points to SEAT not attempting to stop rain water etc getting into the doors via the top opening, a bit strange I think, but if the drain holes are free and open the cars seem to survive.

I think you've solved my issue... my driveway is relatively steep and I reverse in, I've only ever noticed it when it's been on the drive, so looks like it's just because of the angle, which is still pretty annoying as it looks like it'll always do it for as long as I live here lol!

Cheers.

My wife’s Ibiza and my Golf R do it too - when parked on our sloped drive, nose in! There’s your answer I reckon mate!

Oh bother if Golf also does it, still if the drain hole is set way back along the bottom of the door frame, then they will fill up quite a bit before the water runs out when parked on a slope.
