After ringing my dealer on this matter they agreed to repair the fault under warrenty, they replaced the clips where the water gets in and also replaced my wet mouldy soundproofing.

I would advise you all to get on to your dealer and see what they can do as its a big problem which they all know about just there doing nothing about it.

Was anything else done apart from changing the clips and soundproofing?

Anything with Foam Strips, as mentioned in the TPI #2025865 ?

I'm out of warranty but it's annoying me so much that I'd gladly pay to have it fixed.

+1

The revised clips will not cure the problem. You can see the drain holes which let most of the water through , one near where the washer hose comes in, another on the other side and one smaller one just infront of where the centre clip fixes.

My FR is only 3 months old. Will this have the Foam seal? Don't want to touch it if it's under warranty

Its a **** design, why didn't they just continue the bonnet all the way up instead of a crap plastic trim. There's not even a seal on the bonnet at the front or landing panel to stop water getting forced into the engine bay and soaking the bonnet sound proofing. Also when you have the bonnet open have you noticed water runs off it straight onto the brake master cylinder reservoir, so you cant open that to top up if the bonnets wet as it would drop water straight into the reservoir. Pure madness

Could remove the plastic trim and use large amounts of filler where the plastic trim was ,then get the bonnet painted.

Where you going to put the washer jets?

If you gently push a piece of paper inbetween the bonnet and the bonnet strip, you should feel resistance after about 1" if the sealing strip has been fitted. If it hasn't, it will just slide straight under.
