Hi all, i've been suffering with the water leak problem in my boot. After removing most of the pannels in the boot and hours searching for where the leak comes from i am still none the wiser.

I have worked out that it's not a washer leak and comes from above the passenger side rear wheel arch. The water seems to drip down from higher up but because of where it is i can not see where this is coming from exactly.

If any one knows how to fix this i'd be forever gratefull!

The water gathers in a little well behind the wheel arch which, when full and the cars driven, overflows into the boot.

I was thinking of drilling a little drainage hole in this well so that the water can drain out. Does anyone think this would be a bad idea?

my leak was in a similar area, try and get someone to press the washers and trace where the leak is coming from. mine has a pipe which had disconnected. it will be from around there somewhere.

Drilling a hole could be an idea but just make sure you seal the cut metal otherwise it will rust and rot. I'd get some underseal on that to seal it up anyway once cleaned up.

***HELP*** im a newbie with the exact same problem, seems like the water is coming from high up and sits in the exact same place as the pic above. I cant find the source of the leak, also the rear o/side passenger seat is soaking, not the back bit of the seat just where your ass sits, the bottom bit? please help if you can, cheers.

@Fien, I popped out the grommet so the level doesnt get high enough to over flow, i am now closing on where the water is coming in! If i pour water into the boot door hinge area on the n/s, it begins to leak into the same place as you! Ive got a feeling its coming through the seams on the body work around that area. Ive covered the two joins on the body work with silicone sealant for now, and im gonna re test once its set!

I have a leak there as well but it is coming in through a hole in one of the welds in the boot (just behind the bit of padding you can see in the above picture). I tried to silicone it but it didnt work so its going to the bodyshop next week to get the bumper off and sealed properly
