hi, looking for bit of advice before I go back to seat garage, had big service done bout a month ago now, all filters changed etc, about a week ago I notice some water sitting on my car mat on passenger side, it was raining, thought it kinda strange as the door hadn't been open, I felt the carpet as it was coming out a bit from door edge plastics also carpet felt wet going up in the direction of glove box, this was the Friday, it didn't rain till Monday/Tuesday, so carpet had dried, on the Tuesday nite I moved my car back up my drive and on bumping against the base of my garage a bit slosh of water appeared on my car mats again, coming from carpert gap as it again was wet, I did a wee search and got the usual things like check door drains etc, but couple of people were saying pollen filter not fitted properly??as this was one of the filters replaced and I believe is located at the glove box, I hoping this is the reason for sudden water leak, my leon is only 4 yrs old (2012 plate), and as the past 2 services were small services and there had been no leaks, it seems kinda suspect that it could be pollen filter, can anybody advise me if this is right enough:think:, thanx for looking

It's only the pollen filter on the mk1 Leon that leaks if not fitted correctly. With the 2012 model it's fitted in the heater box inside the car so will lot cause any water ingress issues.

To be honest there is nothing carried out at any services that could cause water ingress. In my experience leaking windscreens are the most common cause of water ingress on the Leon

Have you checked the rubber seals around the door? Could be perished, pinched or not sitting correctly. Is the door sill wet when you open the door or just the carpet?

had a wee look at rubbers around door, seem ok, didn't check if sill was wet as it's happened a couple of times that I've seen the water on car mats, I just thought it was to do with filters, but looks like its not that :(

Interesting. Only thing I can think of it dry it out, then spray water at the door and around it, then see what's wet inside, if anything.
If nothing, then it must be coming from the scuttle panel? I think that's what it's called, where the screen screen jets are. Does the water smell at all? Maybe it's coming from above the firewall or that kind of area.

I don't know, just chucking some thoughts around as it might help trigger someone else to think of something to try.

thanx for that, I'm going to hold off with the garage for now, see if anything more comes in from you guys, and also check drain holes aswell (anybody know where they're located on MK2 leons?), is the scuttle panel anything to do with pollen filter?cos that was mentioned on a forum I had seen while searching last week, thought that was it, but going by previous comments I'm not sure now, just gutted bout this as I believe a water leak is the last thing you want as it can be a nightmare to locate it :(

The scuttle panel is the black plastic at the top of the bonnet closest to the window, they;re prone to leaking, a known design flaw.

I don't know where the pollen filter is located,
