waterpump and cambelt price

pump and full cambelt kit, all genuine , the work been done at a time served vw garage, £250 cash in hand, is this an average price

That's really good considering I did my own which cost £300 in parts :/ (baring in mind I changed everything whilst I was in there like the hydraulic tensioner).

so many people start tanting when you tell them you only do the job the right way and the parts will cost more.

100s over 1000s i say.

mate of a mate of mine whos an audi technition, quoted me all in ,, £408. all genuine parts full cambelt kit. waterpump, aux belt, thermostat !!!, or £350 without stat :confused: good or bad,?????

My local dealer quoted £279 for timing belt + £80 for the water pump. A job that I'll be getting done soon. Might call around some other garages first though

cam belt change

What does the cam belt kit comprise off e.g. aux belt,pre-tenshioners?
Also do you need to specify the pump type-i know they have metal impellors but are they all the same.
Mine (LCR) just coming upto 40K

a genuine kit will have a belt and tensioner in it thats it, the damper and water pump are seperate

all done, he did it in a very quick time, around 2.5 hours i think.

original plastic water pump was split in half , picked a good time to get it done really!
