Since it was such a nice day i decided to give the car it's final big detail before winter hits.

Usual blah

Washed with Megs gold class, sonus mitt, 2bm

Rinse

De tar with Tardis

Rinse

Clayed with Bilt hamber clay

Washed again

Dried

Polished with lime prime

2 layers of extra gloss protection

Then wax

I have tried applying wax by hand before, but usually just a small panel to see, but since it was such a nice warm day though i would do the whole car. Dodo juice Diamond white was my wax, nice and workable in the heat.

As you get some out and rub it between your palms you can feel the wax melt, very nice sensation. Then just massage it into the paint, leaving behind a thin even coat. Takes a bit of practice and i think i went a bit heavy in places which was a pita to buff off. But in general i think its faster than using a foam pad by hand, but probably uses more wax.

So nice feeling the glass like paint if you have prepped it correctly. I advise you to give it a shot :broon:

Not so bad doing it on the privacy of my drive, but if you car is in the street you may get some looks if you are seem massaging your car.

To be honest i havent ever applied wax by bare hands... not sure why, just never felt the urge i suppose.

No pics though !?... shame on you...lol

Does depend on the wax, luckily most dodojuice producs smell amazing, so dont mind using hands.

Was fairly dark by the time i got back from post clean drive to run the rust off the discs.

Now the car is covered in fine layer of dust. Yay.

Its always the way isnt it...lol

Theres a lot of heavy building work going on near work so its rare for the car not to be covered in dust from that, add a bit of rain and thats a pretty rank looking car.

OCD... who'd have it eh !

Like to do a full detail twice a year if i can, proper strip down and get some fresh wax on.
