Antenna issue

Hello Chaps, Own 2013 Ibiza Cupra. I am trying to detach the antenna mast from its base. It unscrews OK and is nice and loose but will not split from the holding thread.
Almost like that is turning as well. Have tried holding the thread with pliers but no joy. Got the feeling I am missing something as all web advisers say it just unscrews.
Great if you can shed any light.

Done more research and found out it is anti theft! More searching and the answers were here from many moons ago.
Just got to put into practice the wisdom of the members.
