Got an email today saying the beta testing for Waze on Android Auto is starting.

Just got the new version of the app pushed through and tried it in the car, it looks so good on the screen in the car and very user friendly.

Looking forward to trying it on the way home, wasnt using AA because it didn't have it, will be good to start using it again.

So if anyone is waiting...it's coming soon :funk:

Praying for it to come out on Apple CarPlay but it'll never happen, instead they'll keep forcing Apple Maps down our throat

Loving it at the moment, used it to and from work last night and this morning and its so so much better than google maps.

No crashes or anything yet either

I've installed but for whatever reason it is not working on android auto...it is not getting GPS location...so I'm sad little creature ;(

Waze with Android Auto support is now out of beta. But the first time I used it, when I deviated from the planned route, it took a long time to recalculate the route and stopped giving verbal instructions. So, back to Google Maps.

Hopefully they'll sort it out soon, but there are reports of incompatibilities between various combinations of phones and in-car systems.

BTW, I have a OnePlus 3.

Been working great so far on my S8+, they have fixed most of the bugs I have experienced so far.

If it's slow to update, make sure the phone has signal.

Has anyone tried connecting two phones to the headunit, say an Android phone via USB for Android Auto (and thus Waze) and maybe an iPhone via bluetooth at the same time?

I am also in the iPhone camp and wildly jealous that I cannot use Waze via CarPlay either! :( If this would work, I'd consider a cheap Android phone just to get this to work while still keeping my SIM in the iPhone for calls.

Thanks!

Worth a try, but I'm pretty sure it only allows media to be played/displayed from one phone source

I'D LOVE TO KNOW HOW TO TURN THE VOLUME DOWN ON WAZE.

It's really frustrating that the volume knob does nothing when waze speaks.

It does for me when I use the steering wheel controls while its speaking.

Does it work on google maps? Would have thought you're turning the volume down system wide rather then just waze

Waze not working on AA

Was looking forward to using Waze as it was finally available to use on Android Auto, however there appears to be an issue whereby as soon as phone display goes to sleep the GPS does not function therefore the Navigation is unusable. Switched back to Google Maps and all fine. Using Samsung S8+.

That must be a setting on the phone, am using it on an S8+ too and never had that issue. It may well be a bug though I guess.

Cannot find anything on the phone and as I say works fine on Google maps but when on Waze the screen has to be "live" which if you are driving defeats the object really?
