My ibiza is now almost gutted out for track use. Can I convert the windows to manual and do away with motors? Or is there gunna be too much work involved, cheers

its not worth the bother - the electric windows are no heavier than manual winders (and yes I have measured them) - note that these days, WRC cars have electric windows !
I have a pair of complete fibreglass doors for my ibiza that this year will be fitted on pin hinges so they can be taken off. The drivers side door I am going to leave steel though and keep the electric window winder in and a glass window - I like driving with window down and its gets very hot inside. The passenger side door is going to be a lightweight door with no provision for lowering the window, only a plastic window screwed in the up position.
I was considering convering to manual windows and mirrors on mine but never got round to it.
How far have you got with the diet? Made a big difference to mine - taking about 1.2 s off the 0-60 and 0.8s from the 1/4 mile time....
Got any track days planned? Fancy coming along to Castle Combe on the 22nd April - I'm organising the club stand - there's a post in the trackday section. http://photos.wanadoo.co.uk/album/1268266 and http://photos.wanadoo.co.uk/album/2091754
