weird noise on start up!

when i start my car in the morning it starts and soon as it does it makes a horrible noise hard to explain what it sounds like! only realy does it when its cold!

anyone got any ideas what this is or could be?

search for "rough idle" or "cold starts" something along them lines matey

Depends what sort of bad noise i had a bad squeek on start up for a while before the starter went on me

Would help if the car had a fanbelt

Could be the same problem as I suffer, starter motor bearings shot. Nasty mettalic screech as it starts, once the motor has disengaged its fine. Only does it when cold.

Happened after I drove through a ft of water in january.

Ill change the motor when I get round to it, another job on the list!
