Weitec Hicon GT Coilovers - anyone got them?

Looking for a huge favour from someone with these coilovers. My car is in a garage over the weekend and they need a copy of the fitting instructions to check something before making any changes. If anyone still has the sheet could they please take a pic for me? Or if anyone knows where I could download them that would be great too. Thanks.

What exactly do they need to check?

Im running kw coilovers (essentially the same)

Im an electrician and fitted them on my drive with axle stands. A garage should know without instructions?

They seem to think that the previous place have fitted them incorrectly. There was a lot of play when he shook the wheel and there has been a lot of strange noises coming from the front end.

I've had brand new top mounts and bearings put on recently.

A lot of play when shaking the wheel says wheel bearing to me.....

Unless they've not tightened something up properly not alot to them,a garage shouldnt need instruction to check the front end over,coilover is just a replacement of the strut,have all the bushes been checked ?

The best way I can explain it is that there is a huge gap at the top mount. Once it is all put together, there is a gap between the top mount and the plate under the bonnet. The whole thing moves up and down around 15mm. It seems as if there is a washer or something missing. The guy needs the diagram to check whether anything is missing or not.

Cheers mate. The way there is a huge gap between the top mount and the plate doesn't seem right at all. It allows the whole thing to move up and down which is probably what was causing the knocking noise I had.

Sounds like the plate isnt seated corrected so the shock possibly needs stripping and rebuilding again jone done.. Il get you pics though

He has stripped both side down and put them back together and there is still a large gap. That is why he seems to think that something may be missing from when they were originally fitted by another garage.

Or if you have an exploded view of the standard suspension that may help.

Sounds like knackered top mount bearing / worn bush (although you say new ones were fitted) . There isnt much to them all you do is stick the new bearing and top mount onto the shock.... Ontop of the spring there is a spring plate thing... This may be missing

I was using polycarb top mounts. He has just tried with a new set of standard ones and there is no more play at all. Cheers for the help guys

No prob, good to see you have them sorted. You cant really fit them wrong tbh
