any price guides on what to expect , best place to go , are these just std clutches or handle more power

also is itbest to replace the flywheel @same time or not really needed

if your brave enough and want to save a few £ you could import from the USA...

Just ordered a Spec stg2 with steel single mass flywheel for £540 including shipping :) It will handle up to 411 ft/lb of torque. My clutch is slipping a fair bit now and the DMF will probably be shot at by them time it comes to change it :)

Ordered the right one, the reciept said it was the right one but the flywheel sent was wrong. Ended up buying another SMF as my car was in bits on the ramp when they opened the box and noticed the wrong SMF was in it. They sent a ten hole VR6/R32 SMF instead of a 6 hole SMF. Must get around to selling the the wrong SMF at some stage.

when its stuck in gear in traffic that can be a problem as its still pullng slightly with the clutch pedal fully pressed!

that could be air in the system and need bleeding but as it's been done so many times i'd say it's getting air in it or leaking from a worn seal/cylinder :(

Just get a Helix or Sachs pressure plate with an organic drive disc. Both are well provern and good quality kits with good quick backup if in the unlikely event anything goes wrong, also a direct fitment old for new.

Hi all

its my first post so please forgive me, where can you get the above from in the uk??

i havnt had my Seat 150 fr long but the clutch is beginning to slip, it is remapped etc. I use it everyday for work so i want it as useable as possible with hopefully no reliability issues.

Im in Shropshire is there any local firms who could fit it for me??

thanks

Have a look at the on site advertisers mate. AwesomeGTI are a very good company that i can personally recommend. Any garage that can fit an ordinary clutch to your car can fit an uprated Helix or Sachs clutch since they are designed and fitted in the same way. Just make sure when you order from where ever you get the clutch that it come with an organic drive disc not a cerametallic paddle disc and you will not go wrong.:)

thanks very much, i will do some reasearch....

i usually do all my own repairs but ive been told the 6 speed box is a bit too much of a maul to work on on the floor so i will need a ramp or a reliable garage.

how do you get that much power from your motor

whats the link online to order it? £540 delievered with no tax on the import duty?

not bad!

unfortunately I posted that before I got a call from UPS demanding another £130 for import duty :) (if only theyhad gift-boxed it :p)

Bought it direct from Spec after sending them an email to determine the exact right clutch and flywheel for me

:censored:update.......[:@]

just had a call from my mechanic and the flywheel doesnt fit! so the curse of the spec flywheel strikes again. He said it looks right, it just too tight and it would have to be machined out! great.

so the old clutch is going back on for now. need to decide what to do.....
