Thought blue was going to be more popular than it is
I think it’s more the case that it wasn’t an available colour on MY20 orders. Only for a couple weeks. And most people want something that isn’t black or white so they go with the grey that’s got something about it.

I went for Mag grey originally but when I was able to order red I changed my order.

Think youre probably right mate, tbh i dont any of the colour choices are bad on the cupra but my top 3 choices when ordering was Blue, Red or Grey

Originally ordered white, changed my mind a couple months later and fired off an email late on a Friday asking if I could change to blue.

Got an email on the following Monday morning with a confirmed build date, then an email half an hour later saying now I've got a build date I can't change the colour unless I push it back another three months... so I'm stuck with white.

It was supposed to arrive three weeks ago, now it's scheduled for dealer delivery next Monday.

Any further delays and I'm considering telling them to keep it and buying a used ST in Urban Silver instead

My local ford dealership are offering 0% finance across their range of new and used cars. Tempting... but I want the cupra.

Sorry, I meant a used Cupra estate instead of the hatch!

I wanted to get the estate to begin with, but the co2 emissions are too high to qualify for my car scheme at work, but at this rate I'm tempted to cancel my order for the hatch and stick my partners' Fabia on the car scheme and get the Cupra ST anyway

My Mag Grey cupra ST with 2.5k miles on has as many stone chips as my 150k BMW 325i...

Wouldn't recommend that colour despite its attractiveness!!

I'm at 3.5k and not a single stone chip and same colour. Paint seems pretty solid to me as I've had a few things flung at the car from the dire state of the roads. Mine had 3 months sat at a dealership doing nothing while I couldn't pick it up so not sure if that made any difference.
I have a scratched windscreen however. That I'm not happy with. Sand/grit must have got onto the wiper blades.

Perhaps my paint is defective, but it'd be hard to prove.

Either way I'm unimpressed. My whole ownership experience has been below-average. Think I'll move it on much sooner than planned and go back to BMW. Means I'll need to sell my old 325i :-(

Apart from the wheel incident I had on delivery I've loved owning the car. However based on some people's experiences on here I seem to have been lucky. I'd also have no hesitation in moving on to something else if I didn't get on with it. If I were some people on this forum I'd have moved on a long time ago.

I'll do 2 years and look at options then; I've got to get a van and sort the house out next, however in comparison to my 11 year old car, this Cupra seems to be made from soft cheese!

I admit the paint and glass on the Cupra are fairly soft, glass scratches very easily. Have scratches on the rear glass. Have a 2011 BMW Touring and the paintwork is like granite in comparison.

I have a couple of stone chips/scuffs on my Cupra, going to sort them when the weather improves.

Still love it though, one of the best cars I have ever had :drive1:

BMW's have a very hard paint, had a few beemers up around 100k miles and very very minimal chips on the front end, rock solid paint, if chips annoy you never get a Honda as that is like childrens paint that stuff
