Yesterday I had a downpipe fitted to my LCR 225. Everything was fine in that department and now the alignment is out badly which I knew would be the case before hand. But when I'm driving along and every now and again I will get like a grinding noise and the traction control light starts flashing because I think it thinks it is wheel spinning. I've noticed it only happens at slower speeds. I put my foot down slightly just to see if it does and I get just the usual wheel spin as would be expected. But as I slow down then it makes that noise and then sometimes I also get a whirring noise (like you would get from a motor of some sort) then after about 5 seconds it's back to normal.

Now my question is, is this to do with the alignment being out badly or could it be something else?

People have managed to do it without lowering the sub frame but the general way it's done is to lower it.

I'd get the alignment checked.

My car has never been right since dropping the sub frame. Had the alignment checked and its fine but the steering has always been lighter since.

Hi. I never lowered or dropped sub frame not the easiest job on the planet but it went in

Depends on the downpipe being fitted, some will need the front subframe loosened or dropped, some don't. If it is moved then alignment may well be affected.

I put my foot down slightly just to see if it does and I get just the usual wheel spin as would be expected.

What other mods have you got? How much torque does your car make? I have 286bhp and 276lb/ft torque and I don't "expect" any wheel spin unless there's snow on the ground. You might want to think about some decent tyres.
